Off The Mat, Into The World™ is offering a leadership challenge, which I feel called to participate in. I will journey to Cambodia, a place where children have a very difficult time. They are born into a country that has one of the highest rates of child prostitution, domestic violence, and child labor in the world. Many of the children live in garbage dumps, foraging for their lives, and often selling their bodies for food. But there is hope for these children. A group called the Cambodian Children’s Fund provides food, education, and job training to children on an ongoing basis through its five orphanages and outreach programs. A group of yoga leaders from around the United States are traveling there to participate in changing these children’s lives through working with them hands on. We also will leave a financial legacy. Our group will raise at least a half million dollars, over 90% of which will stay with these kids. In addition to saving lives, I will be challenged to step up and become an emerging leader in the yoga community. This feels like the chance of a lifetime. My intention is to raise $30,000 to go on this trip. Although the required amount is $20,000 per person, I’m committed to doing more. My bringing this money to Cambodia next winter will literally save lives… and leave a legacy I will be proud of. And you should be proud of too. I plan on raising this money by the end of August. I would like your support. I will be sending individual letters, hosting post-yoga bake sales, auctioning off free massages and mats, and reaching as far as I can.
